Some more shots taken at the McKee-Beshers game preserve, this time on the morning of April 29th, 2001. Once again, Ash is being trained by Jim Birdsall. A little more experience than the last time out (click here to see some images from that trip), and is doing a better job holding a point and taking cues from Jim.

Click on any of the images for a bigger view.
Having just been released by Jim and running around to blow off some steam, Ash is suddenly aware that he's smelling birds in the grass and is there to work.

You can just see Jim's arm holding Ash's lead. There's slack, though, so we know that Ash is holding still on his own... you can just make out the Chukar he's pointing in the foreground.
One bird found, Ash is learning to hold the point and wait for Jim to flush the bird.
It was a good day! Good boy, Ash!
