To the Members:

It has been my great pleasure to have had the opportunity to work on the newsletter for the past few years. I have learned a great deal and met many wonderful people. I feel that now it is time for me to pass this job on to someone who I hope will also find many friends and artists among this group of printmakers. Over the next few months, I will be working with Shireen Holman in transferring what I have learned and sharing what she has to offer to keep the newsletter coming in the quality that has been achieved over the years.

In the three years that I have been working on the newsletter, we have seen some changes take place. The biggest change has been to expand the issue back to eight pages. We thought we would try this for a year and then evaluate the results. I feel this expansion has been a great benefit and provides a space to enlarge the images and ideas from the members. The other change, that may not be as evident to the members, was to hire a graphic designer. Rick Pallansch has done a great job in helping to bring the quality of the newsletter to the level that it is today. As volunteers, we are limited in the amount of time that we can donate to an organization and hiring Rick has clearly benefited the members and the organization. In addition, the volunteer efforts of all the members in writing articles, printing labels, mailing newsletters, etc., has been invaluable. I would really like to send my sincere gratitude to everyone who has helped over the years. Phyllis Hofkin for all the mailings, Camellia Blackwell for articles and editorial skills, Linda Harrison-Parsons advice, articles, photos and all-out hard work, Phyllis Wright my predecessor and sensai, Rick Hellman for all of his advice, articles and determination, John Mitchell for an endless stock of photos and support, Mary and Matt Laur for their generous donation of web site and website management, Sally Hopkins for articles, support and volunteering, Susan Goldman for her energy, ideas, and persistence. The list goes on. If I have neglected naming any of you it is merely for lack of space, even in this expanded issue. Everyone's work has been appreciated by myself and all the members.

Thank you,
Megan O'Brien
