The tenth anniversary celebration at Rockville
Arts Place was a huge success. The exhibit was filled with strong work
and was beautifully hung. The opening was well attended. Food was
delicious, and throughout the event we were entertained by an
extraordinarily talented group of musicians, “Jeanean Martin and
family.” There was an awards ceremony, during which the past
presidents of Maryland Printmakers were presented with specially
printed aprons, and outgoing board and committee members were
recognized for all their hard work. Also on view was the 1999 exchange
folio.
After the opening, printmakers stayed on for the
annual fall meeting. A new slate of officers was elected, committee
reports were presented, and then the party resumed. Linda
Harrison-Parsons held a raffle of all sorts of goodies donated by Guy
Kuhn-fine art papers, Rembrandt Graphic Arts, Graphic Chemicals, Dick
Blick, Irish Graphics, D’UVA Fine Artists Materials, Inc., Stones
Crayons and Savoir Faire. We thank them for their generous donations.
Portfolios from past exchanges were also raffled. Last, but not least,
there was a wonderful 10th anniversary cake.

their preferred printing techniques at the 10th anniversary party.
