In celebration of the tenth anniversary of Maryland Printmakers, 26 members participated in the 1999 Folio Exchange. The theme was “On a Scale of Ten” in which members were asked to produce a print demonstrating their growth as a printmaker while creatively referring to “ten” within it.

The prints span the traditional media of lithography, serigraphy and collography; intaglio, stenocut and woodcut; embossing, chine colle and stencil. But ten years has seen the addition of new methods such as silicon intaglio, ImagOn, computer print and computer transfer collage. Likewise, there has developed a maturing of imagery and imagination, demonstrating the growth of our members within their medium. The folio is a tribute to the diversity within our membership and is a fine representation of the print as an expanding art form.

Congratulations to those who participated: Carmon Acosta, Judith Oak Adraka, Janet Varga Berry, Sue Anne Bottomley, Elizabeth Ward Carter, Marcia N. Davis, Jane Eddy, Aline Feldman, Susan Goldman, Linda Harrison-Parsons, Phyllis Hofkin, Shireen Modak Holman, Michael Jones, Judith Kahn, Barbara Kerne, Mary Laur, Nancy M. Leak, Andrea P. McCluskey, Kay McCrohan, Marjorie Talle Merriman, Jane Kelly Marais, Megan Kelly O’Brien, Judith Sando, Shirley Tabler, Caroline M. Thorington and Grace Wahnish.

The folio is documentation of the superb printmaking. Imagine the folio of 2010!
