MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
(Archived version from March, 1998 - click here for current)

With the upcoming General Meeting on March 29th, my two year term as President will come to a close. It has been a challenging two years which I have enjoyed; however, I am now looking forward to continuing on the board as Past President. It is time to seek nominations for a new president. If this is something thay you have thought about, you may nominate yourself or someone else whom you think would be good in this office. We have decided to open nominations for President to the entire membership rather than pre-select a candidate. If you have had the desire to become more involved on an administrative level, now is the time to speak up. Elections will take place at the General Meeting on March 29, 1998.

This is an excellent time for soneone new to come into office. Everything is in place and "up and running." We have capable members chairing the committees such as Exhibitions, Newsletter, web site, Education, Folio, and General Meetings. Our Secretary and Treasurer will remain in their positions for the upcoming year.

When I first came into office there were several board member positions that needed to be filled. I was able to get energetic and competent people to work with me. With a membership of over 175 at this time, I know that there are many capable people who have not had an opportunity to lead and give direction to our group. Please call or send your nominations to Betsy Carter.

All nominees will be contacted by the committee prior to the General Meeting. If you would like to find out more about the position, please Email me at rhellman-print@JUNO.com.

Respectfully,
Richard Hellman
