| We are pleased to know
that many of our members have commented on the improved appearance of the
newsletter. The joint efforts of our contributors, our graphic artist Rick
Pallansch, and of course the editors are the basis for the improvements.
It is our desire to continue to develop and improve the newsletter to include
additional pages with more information and graphic images. With our current
budget, we are limited to six pages. Unfortunately, it has been necessary
to postpone, eliminate, or abbreviate certain submissions due to the limited
six page format. It is our hope that we will find a sponsor to underwrite
the current cost of production of the newsletter and hopefully expand to
include at least two additional pages with images. If you know of a business
or company that might be interested in providing a tax deductible grant to
Maryland Printmakers (a 501(c)(3) educational organization) to cover the
cost of the newsletter, please contact me with the information. Thank you
for your continued support.

Having served as secretary
on the Board of Directors for three years, I felt it was time to step aside
and give someone else an opportunity to work with the board and learn the
ins and outs of the Maryland Printmakers. My decision to work on the newsletter
with Camellia Blackwell was made with intention of bringing our distant and
diverse members together through the newsletter. With the bulk of the members
in Baltimore, Frederick, and Washington area, we are hoping to establish
a liaison in these areas to relay information about members and events which
will be reported in the newsletter. Although we cannot cover all events,
if you know of anything of interest going on I your area, feel free to call
or send me information. We welcome any information about yourself and what
you are doing. Our membership is quite unique in occupation and technique,
and it is really a benefit to everyone to share interests.
