Book Arts in the Age of Dürer is at The Baltimore Museum of Art through January 21, 2001. The exhibit includes 35 never-before displayed books from The Walters and the Hopkins Sheridan Libraries and 65 rarely seen woodcuts from the BMA’s collection. Showcasing early editions of the three most celebrated publications of the Renaissance, The Large Woodcut Passion, The Apocalypse, and The Life of the Virgin, the exhibition also includes illustrated books about astronomy, medicine, natural history, religion, travel, geography, classical history and mythology.

 

Ray Esposito’s Printhouse Art Gallery & Workshop has relocated to Princess Anne, Maryland. The new address is 11699 Beechwood Street, 21853. Phone: 410-351-2878. The name has also been changed to The Jim & Beth Philion Center for Graphic & Print Arts (Philion Center for short). 

 

Fleckenstein Gallery & Archival Framing has opened at 29 Allegheny Avenue in Towson. Owned and operated by Terrie Fleckenstein, former Director of Framing at Gomez Gallery, Fleckenstein Gallery & Archival Framing will showcase the works of contemporary regional artists each month in its gallery space, while offering expert art conservation services and in-house framing for valuable pieces of artwork. A series of lectures and art talks will be offered beginning next year. Standard framing of posters and an “economy line” for artists will also be available.
