Dear
Members,
I
have been ever so slowly getting up to par with the
responsibilities as the Maryland Printmakers President.
I must say a big thanks goes to all of the board members
for helping me and making it as smooth as possible.
I
want to thank Quentin Moseley for offering the
facilities at the MICA print studio for our fall
semi-annual meeting. It was great to have a meeting back
in Baltimore and especially at MICA. It seems rather
appropriate to start off our new decade almost where we
began 11 years ago. I also hope that the meeting in
Baltimore served to rally a few of our members in the
Baltimore area to assist in our April show in Carroll
County.
One
of the mandates I placed on myself when I was nominated
President was to increase education to the public by use
of workshops and demos around the state. At our Anne
Arundel show in September, the Maryland Printmakers were
well represented by the works and by Bridget Sue
Lambert's artist’s talk. In October, Maryland
Printmakers gave a demo and workshop at Frostburg State
University. My hope is that our workshops, demos and
artist talks will continue to be part of our shows and
continue to play a part of our public education.
Thank
You,
Calvin
